  1. Potato Crop
    First the ground is ploughed with a plough with one mould board. Then it is cultivated. Drills are opened with a drill plough. The manure is carted out and left in small piles. It is scattered with a grape on the drills. The potatoes are cut into splits. Then they are dropped on the manure. Guana is put on too, and the drills are closed. When the stalks come up, they are harrowed with a round harrow the shape of the drills.
    After some time they are hoed to keep down the weeds, then they are moulded some days later.
    They are sprayed with a solution of blue stone, and washing soda. First a barrel of water is filled, then the blue stone is melted in the water. The washing soda is melted with hot water. It is thrown in with the blue stone and
