    a little salt is added and then they are kneaded out with flour and made into a round shape. This is then cut into four shares each called a farm. Then they are put in the pan which is put above the fire to bake.
    Boxty bread is made from potatoes and flour. First some potatoes are grated very finely and the moisture squeezed out of them. Then they are mixed with boiled potatoes.
    A little baking soda is then added and all are mixed up with flour and then put in the fire to bake.
    Long ago every person in this district had a quern for grinding their barley and corn. To make the quern they got a stone and made a hold in it
