At Christmas men went about like mummer's to people's houses. They sang songs & said rhymes. Then the people gave them money. Then they would have a dance in some body's barn. The people decorated their houses with holly at Xmas.
Two days after Xmas, people gathered to a place called Warden to play cammon. The police would be there to see there would be no disagreeing. At last they (stopped) started to fight and it was stopped then.
At Easter the people made an Easter house (before Easter) & put a fire in it. They stole eggs on Saturday for Sunday. Good Friday was kept a half holiday.
