    Then rapped at the door of these two Irish tinkers,
    But loud as he rapped, louder noise they back made.
    The landlady scolded and got in a passion,
    The tinkers they laughed while they hammered away;
    Well knowing that the landlord could ne’er dispossess them
    As long as their bill they continued to pay.
    ‘Twas these four days they kept up their rackets
    The Landlord offered them on the first day,
    Then pounds but was glad to bestow them one hundred,
    In order to get the two tinkers away.
    When Daniel O’Connell he first went to London
    The sights of old Erin to ably maintain;
    The Cockneys all sought to make fun of the Irish
    But they never played tricks on O’Connell again.
