  1. There are a lot of stories told about hidden treasures. Some of these stories are not true., but it is said most of them are true. About a mile from this school there is a field with a tree in the middle of it, and people said that there is a pot of gold under it. This is a story told about this tree.
    One day a man went into this field and he thought he would dig under the tree; so he started to dig. He had the tree nearly dug up when a shower of stones fell from the tree and he was nearly killed.
    After that nobody ever tried to dig up the tree, or cut it down. Another story is told about (the) hidden treasures in this district. About a 1/4 of a mile out of the town there is a big rock called the grey rock and there is some kind of treasure hidden there. At night a lot of people are afraid to pass this stone and it is said the reason why they are
