  1. The local fairs are held in the towns of Ramelton and Milford.
    Some people say that there was a fair held in Ray and that there was a greased pig let loose and whoever caught this pig got it to keep.
    Long ago the servants went to the hiring fair with their belongings tied up in a large handkerchief but, now they are dressed up as well as any other body.
    In olden days the people thought that if a black cat crossed the road in front of them they would have bad luck.
