  1. In olden times people believed greatly in cures but nowadays people do not believe so much in them. There are a few cures which I know about.
    There is a place near my home called the Holy Wells and children are brought there who cannot speak to be cured.
    My grandmother who lives two miles about Kilmecrenan has a cure for the whooping cough because her husband and herself are the one name, she gives the child who is affected with the cough a piece of loaf bread with jam on it.
    My uncle who lives near Kilmacrenan cures sprains, he simply rubs the affected part. His name and address is Mr. James McGettigan. Meenreagh, Kilmacrenan. There is a man the name of John McDonnell who lives in the
