    Butter is used for buttering your bread or else to put in puddings.
    Butter milk is used for drinking, baking and also for feeding calves and pigs.
    It is also used for hens to drink.
    Some people put saltpetre in their milk when going to churn, the reason for this is that the butter might have a taste of turnips, cabbage or other feeding stuff the cows would get.
