  1. On the 2nd 1878 at the age of 73 the third Earl of Leitrim was murdered in Cratlagh wood about four miles from Milford on the Milford Carrigart road Co. Donegal just at entrance to the wood from the Carrigart side. He was a man of absolute courage and a unconquerable will. He built a great house at Manorvaughan. Care of his property and and litigation were his hobbies. He allowed
