  1. (continued from previous page)
There are many things which give us the sign of the weather, such as, the sun, the rainbow, the moon, the cat and the stars.
A rainbow in the morning is a shepherds warning a rainbow at night is a shepherds delight.
When the stork goes out to sea it is the sign of good weather but when it comes inland it is the sign of rain.
A far off ring on the moon is a near storm . When the cat sits with with her back to the fire it is the sign of rain.
When there is rain coming the ducks are to be seen flapping their wings.
If the sun is very bright when she is setting it is the sign of frost.
If you see a blue bleeze in the fire it is the sign of frost.
If the smoke coming out of the chimney goes straight up into the aer it is the sign of good weather.
