  1. Patrick Griffin, Oakpark can carry a plough.
    My fathers grandfather left his own house at Lisnaneese, and was in Letterkenny in twenty minutes, a distance of three miles.
    The people in olden times walked to fairs in Raphoe, Milford, Derry and Kilmacrennan from Woodland.
    William Richard McElhinney of Lisnaneese mowed two acres in one day.
    Hanna Sweeney and Pat Sweeney are noted dancers. They live in Creeslough. The dances which they can do are The Horn Pipe, Maggie Pickin and the Four Hand Reel. They were taught by their parents.
    Robbie Stevenson, Woodtown, and John Russell, Brockaugh are two good singers.
    James Hunter, China, formerly of Carmoney, Milford won a silver cup for walking twenty miles in two and a half hours.
