  1. One day Pat and Mick were out drawing turf in the bog. Mick was throwing in turf-clods to drown the flies.when he slipped and fell in. Pat became very excited and ran home. He told his mother that Mick fell into one of the bog holes. and could not get out as he had sunk down over the ankles. "Oh" said the mother, "if that is all the depth he is down he will get out himself." "He cant." replied Mick, "as he is down with his head first."
