  1. Here are some of the local beliefs about the weather. When the floor sweats it is either for good weather or bad weather.
    If the cat is sitting very to the fire it is for rain. And if she rubs her paw over her ear three times there will be a flood.
    If the moon is dim and a ring round her rain will follow. If the ring is far off the rain is near at hand.
    And if the sun is white at setting or goes down into a bank of clouds bad weather is to be expected.
