  1. If the sun is a red colour when it is setting it is a sign of frost and if it is a misty colour it is a sign of rain.
    When there is a ring round the moon a storm is expected. The larger the ring the nearer the storm. If the moon comes on a Saturday, bad weather is expected in that month, but if it comes on a Sunday it is said to be even worse as the saying goes:
    "Saturdays moon goes three times mad,
    And Sunday's moon is twice as bad."
    Before frost the stars twinkle and shoot. They also shine very brightly.
    The clouds get dark and heavy before rain and if they are very black we may expect thunder.
