  1. An Old Story

Fairies were very numerous in Carrick about 80 years ago. They had great power at that time.

Fairies were very numerous in Carrick about 80 years ago. They had great power at that time. There was a man named Tom Quinn who had to do battle with them. They attacked him one night on his journey leaving a neighbour's house.
He set a time for the battle which was granted to him.
The next morning he went up to Father Campbell of Glenswilly. He told him to go down and dig a circle round the place where the battle was to be fought.
Then they came both horsemen and foot men and their swords shining but they could not enter the ring.
Father Campbell's ring is to be seen to the present day where the battle was to have been fought.
