- In the year 1877 there was a great flood and it lasted for about a month. The land was flooded and some houses were flooded.
- There was a great snow-storm in the year 1920. It lasted about two months. The snow was very deep, and it was so deep that the children could not go to school and the people had to shovel the snow off the road, and pile it into piles at the side of the road.
- There was a great thunderstorm in 1917. A man named William Elliott, on his way home from winnowing turf, was knccked down by lightning, but he was not injured.
