  1. To remove warts you procure a black snail and rub the warts three nights in succession. Then leave the snail someplace, and as the snail dies the wart will die also.
    In olden times when people had the toothache they got a frog and they rubbed the gum with it.
    To cure whooping-cough people used to crawl between a donkey's legs three times.
    To cure the "Mumps" it is said if you get somebody to put a pair of horses' "winkers" on you and lead you to the boundary between two landlords and the kneel down and take a drink out of a water hole the same as a horse, you will get better.
    A cure for the measles is to go over two different bridges over the same water.
