  1. Once upon a time in this district a man named Dan Mc. Dermott mowed two acres of corn in one day. The corn belonged to David Patchell who is now dead. Before he started to the corn he bet £1 with another man that he would mow it in one day. But David Patchell did not want it cut in a day because he thought he would destroy the corn. So he did not let him go out until 9, o'clock. He had the two acres cut at 6 o'clock at night.
