    his black-thorn sprang up through the ground and the water followed it. He returned to his mother and told her what happened. His mother said to him, “It will go dry in summer” but he said, “No I left a Mother to feed it as long as grass and water flows.” So Doon Well still remains and many miracles are performed. Many pilgrimages come from far and near to this place.
    The famous Rock of Doon is only a few yards from the Well.
