  1. First the ground is ploughed in November or December. Sometimes the manure is put in heaps on the field a couple of months before it is ploughed. After the ground is ploughed it is harrowed. The harrows are made up of a frame of wood and a great many irons going through it. The ground is harrowed to make the soil fine. It is drilled then. The drills are made with a drilling plough. The drilling plough is much the same as a plough. The ground is drilled to make it neat and also to make it easy to work in. The woman of the house cut the potatoes. They choose big potatoes for cutting because there is a lot of eyes in them. The wee potatoes are not cut, they are put into the
