  1. There is a ruin in this locality. Its name is Wray castle because the last people who lived there had the name of Wray. It is a two storey house. with cellar and attic. There is an underground passage which is about 200 yards long which is now closed up. It is surrounded with a high wall with port holes for defence. They are nearly all worn away now. It is supposed Turlough Óg O'Boyle owned it. He was taken prison by Maol Murragh of Doe Castle and put to death because he wished to marry Múl Murragh's daughter. Some have said there are eight crocks of gold hid round it and a neighbour man who has looked for a crock of gold he came upon an
