  1. The mummers come round before Xmas. They are dressed up in old clothes and faces. They go into the houses and sing or dance or play music. In return for that the people give them money.
    On shrove Tuesday the people make pancakes for tea. It is better known as pancake Tuesday.
    The people go to the church and get ashes on their foreheads on Ash Wednesday. The people used take black tea and bread with no butter on it that day. They would not eat any eggs on that day either.
