    There was a man one time who lived near my father's wood. One day he went into the wood to cut fine wood and he saw a fairy.

    wanted silver to come to the rock where the fairy was sitting. Sometimes he came every day and sometimes every other-day.
    But the fairy told him on no account to tell any-one. One day how-ever his wife was going to the shop and the old man gave her four half-crowns and the woman said "where on-earth do you get all this money" and he told the secret.
    But when he went back he could find no money and day after day he went back but found nothing.

    A little fairy woman with a wee red cloak on her appeared one time.

    I heard this story from my father who said his mother told it to him for a fact.
    A little fairy woman with a wee red cloak on her appeared one time.
    She went to a house in this District in which there was a small Baby in a cradle by the fire.
    The little fairy looked at the child for some time and then said to the woman of the house "that baby is thriving well" since the last time I saw it.
    Where did you ever see it asked the woman of the house. "The fairy answered" sure I saw it the day you had it up at
