    cure was lost. Another cure for the whooping cough was to get the hair out of the head of a person who had never seen his father. The hair was cut up finely and mixed with food, which was given to the person suffering from the whooping cough. Another well known cure was the donkey cure. Those suffering from the whooping cough were passed under the donkey three times.
