  1. In olden times the majority of the people lived on three meals a day, namely breakfast, dinner and supper.
    The breakfast was generally around nine oclock, the dinner at two, and the supper at eight.
    Potatoes were eaten twice a day. They were used for the dinner and supper, and butter, eggs and milk were taken with them. The breakfast consisted of tea, with oatmeal bread, or some potato cake or boxty cake and eggs. Sometimes porridge was taken instead of this.
    Fish was often taken with the dinner. Meat was scarce long ago and was seldom eaten, except on big
