  1. Errew is situated beside the waters of Lough Conn in the parish of Crossmolina, the barony of Tirawley, and the county of Mayo.
    There are twelve dwelling houses in it, three of these are thatched and the remainder slated. Gallagher is the most common name and there are three families of that name. There is a poplulation of about sixty.
    The area of the village is about six hundred and twenty acres all of which is well suited for tillage except about a hundred and twenty acres which is wet and marshy.
