  1. A person is liable to take a heartburn after food that does not agree with him. A heart-burn can be cured in the following way:-
    Get about a half cup of cold water and put about a teaspoonful of baking soda in it.
    Stir it well and drink it.
    My mother takes a heart-burn and this invariably cures her.
