  1. Once upon a time there was a big flood in the Blackwater and in the sea around youghal. The sea was so wild, and so rough, that no fish could remain alive in it. They were thrown against the rocks and on the seashore.
    It happened that sometime after that there were men fishing on the Blackwater near Strancally Castle. They had their nets out, and they found them getting very heavy. They thought that they had a great haul of salmon. They pulled
