    THere is a district near my grandmother's home, and it is called Monamon ([Móin na mBán]) the bog of women. It is said that two women who were wearied at the end of a days journey sought shelter near a dry turf heap. They sad down to smoke. A shark from on of the lighted pipes set the turf on fire and the result was that both women were burned to death.
    Sceac an tSagairt is near Ballysaggart. It is a white thorn bush. It is called the priests white thorn. Is is said that Mass was said under it during the Penal Times
