  1. There is an old ruined castle in Deerpark Wood. It was built in the year 1607. It is in the Parish of Lismore and in the County of Waterford. It is said by the old people, that Cromwell attacked that castle, on his way to Youghal and that it was his guns that made a ruin of it.
    It is also said that long ago a certain man killed four of his own children in a dungeon
