    The Mermaid
    I heard that a man used to go fishing every night. One fine night, when he was fishing, he found a comb on the sands. He took it up and it was gold. he brought it home.
    About and hour afterwards, he heard knocking at the window. He thought it was the wind that was rattling it and that it was a storm. He paid no attention to it. Then her heard the knocking again at the door, and he went out. It was a mermaid that was there. She asked him for her comb. The old man gave it to her. He never had to go fishing again to make his
