    The Mermaid
    The mermaid lives in the water. She is said to be half a woman and half a fish. Her head and body are the shape of those of a woman. She has long flowing hair. The lower part of her body is similar to that of a fish.
    A story is told of a mermaid being once seen at a place called Bay Loc near Lismore. A poor man passed by the Loc. It was late on a moonlight night. he washed himself, and some of his clothes in the Loc. He spread the clothes out to dry on the bushes near
