    Sometimes they are very friendly and at other times they are vicious. On several occasions they are known to help human beings, by directing them in strange places. If they are cross or angry they do much harm to their enemies.
    Another story is told about the leipreachán carrying a lantern and putting people astray and alluring them into bogs and them out all night. He is known then as "Jacky the Lantern".
