  1. The leipreachán is called a dwarf locally. His height is supposed to be eighteen inches and he dresses in divers colours. He wears a cap and a pair of shoes to match the colour of his suit. He lives in caves and in lioses and in lonely places.
    A story is told about a leipreachán being chased by dogs. It is said he turned into a woman and ran into a house and sat by the fire to escape the dogs. He also escaped in this way of being robbed of his gold.
