    Saint Carthage once laboured and studied in Lismore. His monastery was built on the site where Lismore Castle now stands. He travelled into several places out-side the district, and one in particular named Suidhe Macudha.
    Lismore Protestant Cathedral was once in the possession of the Catholics. It was built by Saint Carthage's Monks.
    Where Lismore Castle now stands, a monastery and school of learning for Irish saints and scholars were built by St Carthage there. This monastery was built of wood. It
