- The yew tree is poisonous and if animals eat the bark or leaves they die. A yew tree grew in our shrubbery. One of our horses ate some of the leaves and died about three hours later. Then we cut down the tree.
Hemlock grows in the grass. It is poisonous. It has a pink flower. If cattle eat it when grazing they will die.
If the juice of the featherfew is boiled with brownsworth and celery it will cure boils.
