- Praiseach buidhe is very injurious to the land and so are thistles. Hemlock is poisonous. There is a weed that kills sheep. When they eat it they swell up and die immediatel(y.) Cruach Phadraig is a little green weed which if placed over a cut or sore will heal it. Heather when boiled makes a lovely dye, whatever colour it is it makes some colour dye.
Thyme, sage, mint and sweet basil are used for flavouring. Mint, chicken weed, nettle and thistle spread very much. Mullein is a cure for sores on animals.
