  1. A man named Sam Storey lived in the townland of Socker in the Parish of Kilmacrenan. He was annoyed by the fairies every night.
When he went to bed, his cows began to roar and the fairies came to his bedroom window and called "Sam, your cows are killing one another". One night a little man came and told him that his byre was built on their home and they were greatly annoyed.
Sam pulled down his byre and built a new one and ever after that he had peace.
