    Bhí fear ann fad ó shoin agus bhí sé ag dul chun an aonaigh cheannacht beathaigh.
    Nuair a bhí sé ag imtheacht chaith a bhean an maide briste ina dhiaidh le adh maith a chur air. D'imthigh sé leis. Nuair a bhí sé giota maith ag siubhal casadh bean ruadh air agus í costárnocht. Labhair seisean leithe agus sheasaidh sise.
    Tá tú ag dul chun an aonaigh indú a ceannach beathaigh arsa sise. Tá arsa'n fear. Tá súil agam go bhfuighe tú beathach maith arsa'n bhean.
    D'imthigh an fear go dtí an t-aonach agus cheannuigh sé an beathach. Nuair a bhí sé ag teacht chun an bhaile agus é ag marchaigheacht air, rith cóinín trasna an bhealaigh mhóir, thug an beathach léim agus thuit an fear agus briseadh a mhuineál.
