  1. Customs.
    (1) The people of this district visit each other’s houses during the long winter nights. They dance, tell stories and some songs are sung. Long ago if the night was dark when they would be leaving for home at bedtime they would take a burning coal out of the fire and carry it with them to light them on their way.
    (2) When a girl has a good show with a boy in this district. The people say to her “You have a good speck”. The same is said to the boy about the girl.
    (3) If a person is sick, he is asked “What is on you”.
    (4) When a person is angry, they say here. “He is vexed”.
    (5) If a person is a great talker, It is said “He would talk a hole in a pot”.
    When a (person) girl hears the first call of the Cuckoo if she looks under her foot and gets a white hair. Her husband will be grey haired. If she gets a dark hair he will be dark.
    When a person sleeps too long in the morning, They say “He slept in”.
