    The Gebbies:- This is a family who have a great habit of asking questions and talking about their neighbours.
    The Hat. The name given to a man who wears a high crowned hat.
    Pea. Eye. This is a man who has one bad eye and some enemy of his gave him this name.
    The Cat. I think this man used to be always grumbling in a tone something like a cat.
    The queen of the Glen.
    The Diamond.
    Broken Wing. This woman used to wear a shawl and she had a low shoulder so that one end of the shawl used to hang low.
    Spotty White. I believe his hair was a bit peculiar.
    The Wee Farmer. This man was not very tall and he made a habit of talking farm matters.
    Saw wood.
