  1. I can find no old prayers either in Irish or in English in the neighbourhood.
    The following prayers were taken down by me 8 years ago from an old man Charlie Sharpe, Cloughboy, who is now over 90 yrs and doting.
    A Mhuire, a Mathair an Rígh!
    Déan mo shíothchan le Mhac;
    A ghrúis is gile ná 'n ghrian,
    Na fulaing m'anam i bpian i bhfad.
    Pronnaim m'anam ort, a Iosa;
    Ní iarrfaidh mé é arais a choidhche
    A Fhiadhnaise ortsa a Mhaighdeán Mhuire
    Gur fhag mé m'anam i láimh do Mhic.
