  1. These signs were told by Mrs. Keeney, Tullybeg aged 66 yrs who heard them from her parents when she was a young girl.
When the wind is in the South the rain is in its mouth.
When the wind is blowing from the North the weather is usually cold and frosty.
The west wind takes the most storm with it.
The birds:- The robin sings on the top of the tree when there is good weather coming but he sings at the foot of the tree when there is bad weather coming.
The Swallows fly low when there is a storm coming.
When the ducks flap their wings it is a sign of wind.
The Clouds:- It is a sign of rain to see red Clouds in the East.
Red Clouds in the West = a sign of good weather.
If the river sounds far up it is a sign of good weather but if it sounds far near the sea it is a sign of bad weather.
It is a sign of storm to see the sheep leaving the field early in the day and going to the caoran.
