  1. The Dane's Fort.
    There are traces of an old fort in Drimmitten on the farm owned by James Boyde.
    Some of the stones are still to be seen and it looks as if it had been circular in shape. Round the old foundation there are old shells. There is an underground opening at it.
    There are traces of several other forts and they are all placed in such a position that if any attack was made they could signal to one another for help.
    One of these is in Maghera, another in Rosbeg, one in Liskeeraghan and one in Kilcashel.
