  1. A Ghost Story;- There was a fisherman one time and he was very poor. He was married and [he?] there was a large family in the house. Any calm night he and three of his sons went out and set nets and then they went out in the morning and lifted the nets. Any day they got a good catch of fish they cleaned them and washed them and then the father went away through the country selling them. As there were no motor-cars or trains then, he went on a horse an cart and went away through the country. On one Halloweve night he was coming home about three o'clock in the morning. As he was passing a very lonely place the horse stopped and would not go forward for the man. His master got off the cart and went to the horses head and got the reins and tried to make the horse proceed but the horse would not move. The man looked around and he saw a brother of his who was dead for five years. The spirit asked his brother to get a Mass said or else pray for him because he was suffering very much in Purgatory and he said he would. At that moment the spirit disappeared and immediately the horse went away running after and the man after him.
