  1. Here are some of the sayings which the people have in this district regarding the weather.
    (1) When the sun rises out of redness in the morning it is a sure sign of rain
    (2) A ring around the moon is a sign of rain.
    (3) When the clouds are dark it is also a sign of rain
    (4) A ring far away from the moon is the sign of a storm.
    (5) To see the clouds coming down in the in the [sic] evening is a sign that the following day is sure to be to be [sic] wet
    (6) If the sun shines on the rocks it a sign of showers
    (7) When stars are bright and hazy at night it is a sign of good weather.
    (8) When the birds fly low it is a sign of bad weather.
    (9) The north and east winds brings us dry weather.
    (10) If the rivers and waterfalls have a tumbling sound it is a sign of bad weather.
    (11) Crows diving in the sky is a sign of a storm.
    (12) When ducks quack in the morning they are calling rain.
    (13) If a dog eats grass it is a sign of bad weather.
    (14) When cat lies with her back to the fire it is a sure sign of a storm.
