  1. A long time ago a man named Denis Gallagher taught school in Lough kip about four miles from here.
    Some of the scholars were over 20 years of age.
    They learned how to read, write and spell. They also learned Catechism.
    Denis Gallagher was a very holy man. When it was lent he took his supper on Holy Thursday night and he ate nothing from that until he came from the chapel on Easter Sunday.
    His wife went to meet him with some food to eat. But he would not take it
