- About 77 years ago a man who never told his name came from a place called Temp, in the County Fermanagh.He taught school in a barn at Charles Mac Caffrey’s of Skreen.They used to keep pigs in the barn at night and they would have to take them out in the mornings before the master came.The master used to go to one of the scholar’s houses to sleep night about.They were taught Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. The master called them the three “R’s”.The scholars used to write on slates with stones. They all read from the master’s book.
