  1. One night very late a man named Johnny Walsh was coming home from a ball alone.
    When he came near Town lough a big black man came out from it and he walked along with him but never spoke.
    Johnny Walsh got afraid and he began to run.
    The ghost ran also.
    When they came to a river near Walsh’s house the black man disappeared.
    This was supposed to be the devil and he was often seen at the lough.
    People say that if you thought of blessing yourself he would have to go away.
