  1. One night an old woman was coming home from the town of Donegal. It was just getting dark as she was crossing a bridge she saw a big black man standing before her on the road. She went into the road-side to let him pass but he stood before her and would not allow her to pass. She stopped to get a stone at him, but when she lifted it the man disappeared. She thought she left down the stone but next morning when she awoke the stone was in her hand.
